Let’s make the beach accessible for all.
From splashing in the cool waves to basking in the sun, nothing beats a day at the beach. However, getting to the water and playing with friends can be challenging for people with disabilities who don't have the equipment needed to fully enjoy our beautiful West Michigan shoreline. Together, we can do something about it.
This holiday season, Disability Network Lakeshore has an ambitious goal to raise $8,000 to purchase three Mobi-Chair® floating beach wheelchairs. Through partnerships at local state parks including Holland, Grand Haven, and Oval Beach in Saugatuck, community members can check out these wheelchairs free of charge to easily navigate the sand and float in the water.
